WWE fans were quick to sound the alarm over the weekend after noticing something strange—The Miz had suddenly removed all WWE references from his social media and unfollowed the company’s official account. With recent veteran cuts like R-Truth and Carlito still fresh, many jumped to the conclusion that The Miz could be next in line. But according to new reports, his WWE status may not be in immediate danger.

The move came at a time when WWE has been aggressively trimming its roster. R-Truth, a staple in the company for years and a recent fixture on Saturday Night’s Main Event, announced his departure out of nowhere. His exit set off alarm bells for fans, especially when The Miz’s social media activity followed immediately after.

As Fightful Select previously reported, “Though there has been much speculation about The Miz’s status after people noticed him ‘unfollowing WWE,’ we have not been told whatsoever that he’s been informed of his contract not being renewed.”

Still, with WWE letting go of names like Carlito and R-Truth, and focusing on phasing out older talent, the timing couldn’t be more suspicious. The Miz, 44, has been with WWE since 2004 and has largely been used for media appearances and hosting duties over the last year.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, Bryan Alvarez offered a new update on Wrestling Observer Live, hinting at a possible reason for The Miz’s online behavior. “I was told that he’s doing the new season of American Gladiators,” Alvarez revealed.

Even so, Alvarez didn’t rule out the possibility that something more is happening behind the scenes.

“I just think it would be a pretty lame thing to do that if you’re not being released when everyone else has been released,” he said. “So where there’s smoke, there could be fire. I will say that, but I guess we’ll find out as the week goes on.”

Whether The Miz is trolling fans or preparing to close the chapter on his WWE run, something clearly shifted this weekend—and fans are watching every move. If The Miz is trolling, he’s doing a damn good job of keeping fans guessing. But if this is the beginning of the end of his WWE run, it would mark a shocking twist for one of the company’s most loyal workhorses.

Do you think The Miz is actually leaving WWE, or is this just a misdirection? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
