Jackie Redmond is a proud Toronto Maple Leafs fan—but even she has limits when it comes to being mocked for it. Especially when the shots are coming nonstop from none other than CM Punk.
During a recent Front Office Sports interview, Redmond opened up about the emotional rollercoaster of cheering for the Leafs, a team she believes is genuinely cursed. But the conversation took a personal turn when she shared that Punk’s relentless trolling has gotten so excessive, she had to ghost him.
“Oh God, I hope so. I really hope so, because I don’t know what it’s like to watch my sports team win anything,” she said when asked if she believed the Leafs would ever win the Stanley Cup. “But it feels like they’re cursed. It really does. There’s a hex on the Maple Leafs.”
And that’s where Punk comes in.
“As long as I’m working with CM Punk, I just can’t handle the torture I endure at the hands of him every time the Leafs lose,” she admitted. “He’s relentless in his chirping of the Maple Leafs, and in his ridicule of me for continuing to choose to be a fan of them.”
Things got so bad, Redmond finally reached her breaking point.
“I’ve actually stopped responding to his texts because our text chain is literally just a stream of memes making fun of the Maple Leafs and their fan base,” she revealed. “And I was like I’m just not responding to you anymore. I’m just literally going to leave you on ‘read.’”
Even with the heartbreak, she’s not backing down from her loyalty to Toronto.
“It’s tough to be a Leafs fan, but I’ll never abandon them,” she declared.
Jackie Redmond might be built for double-duty broadcasts and high-pressure interviews, but even she has her limits—and CM Punk found them with his nonstop Maple Leafs roasting. While the Leafs keep breaking her heart, it’s Punk’s meme barrage that finally pushed her to hit “read” and walk away. Forget the Stanley Cup—Redmond just wants some peace from Punk’s chirping.
