R-Truth is still under WWE contract for a few more weeks—but that hasn’t stopped the company from starting to erase him early. WWE has quietly removed his top-selling Ron Cena t-shirt from WWE Shop, despite it being one of the most popular items in recent weeks.
The shirt, a parody tribute to John Cena, exploded in popularity following Truth’s emotional match with Cena on Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24. That bout, which many now view as an unofficial sendoff, helped push the Ron Cena shirt into top-seller territory—right before WWE decided not to renew Truth’s deal.
According to earlier reports, the shirt was among WWE’s highest-performing merchandise recently. But now, without a word, it’s been pulled from the store. Other R-Truth items remain available—but the one fans were actually buying is gone.
Truth announced his exit early on June 1, posting the following on social media:
“I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride.”
He’s still technically with the company until his contract runs out—but the sudden merch removal suggests WWE may already be wrapping up their business with him.
R-Truth is on his way out—but WWE pulling his best-selling shirt before his deal even ends has fans questioning the logic behind the company’s latest moves.
Should WWE have kept pushing R-Truth’s Ron Cena run instead of pulling the plug early? Was this a missed opportunity to go out strong? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
