WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is officially home after undergoing surgery for colon cancer—and while he’s still in rough shape, the legendary announcer is already fighting to bounce back.
In an update shared on June 2, Ross informed fans he had made it back from the hospital, five days after going under the knife for a computer-assisted laser procedure to remove cancer from his colon.
“Made it home from the hospital but feeling rugged. Need to kick out. I’m trying,” Ross wrote.
The news follows an earlier update from Conrad Thompson, who confirmed the surgery went well and that doctors were optimistic they’d removed all of the cancer.
“Just heard from @rmorfnyc that JR’s surgery went well and they hope to have successfully removed all of his cancer this morning! Please keep @JRsBBQ in your thoughts and prayers as he begins his recovery!” Thompson tweeted on May 27.
JR had already shared confidence ahead of the operation, noting that the procedure wouldn’t require a long recovery time and that he planned to be back in action in time for AEW All In: Texas.
“Hell yeah, I think so, why not? The time to recover is not long. I think I’m actually getting a laser—guy’s doing surgery via computer, which is kinda unique. So I think I’ll be up and able to go in a couple of weeks,” he said.
With Ross now home and resting, the focus turns to recovery—but if there’s one thing wrestling fans know, it’s that JR doesn’t back down from a fight.
