AJ Francis isn’t shy about what he’s contributed to the wrestling world—and he’s letting WWE know they’ve benefited from his work without showing him the same love in return.

During a June 2025 interview with WhatCulture Wrestling, the former WWE star addressed the current NXT-TNA partnership and whether he sees a return to WWE in the cards. His answer made it clear: the door might be open, but he’s not the one knocking.

Francis said that while he’d be open to joining NXT, he’s not actively pursuing it. Instead, he pointed out that WWE keeps signing and booking the very same talent he helped elevate—while continuing to ignore him. He’s mainly referring to Joe Hendry, whom Francis previously credited for helping get over in TNA.

“Oh yeah, I would love to go to NXT, but they know my number. They knew my number when they fired my ass twice. So it’s not like they don’t know where I’m at.”

“They find a way to book all the guys that I put over. They find a way to book all the guys that I make a star.”

The comments feel like a direct shot at WWE’s recent strategy of scouting talent who gained traction in promotions like TNA—sometimes thanks to the work of guys like Francis. Rather than dwell on bitterness, he’s choosing to speak on the facts: he’s helped make stars, and others are cashing the checks.

Francis has always been outspoken, and this latest comment shows he hasn’t forgotten how WWE handled him—twice. Still, the fact he’s on their radar through the success of those around him isn’t lost on him either.
