NXT wants to keep its momentum going with the upcoming Battleground Premium Live Event and that’s why WWE has put together a packed lineup for the show. Therefore, fans can expect a solid event from beginning to end, which is now something they’ve come to expect from the NXT brand.
TNA World Championship: Joe Hendry (c) vs. Trick Williams
Joe Hendry will be putting his TNA World Championship on the line against Trick Williams at NXT Battleground. The two have been at each other’s throats for several weeks now and Williams is determined to beat Hendry no matter what, so we’ll have to see how Williams will fare in the end.
NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Myles Borne
Myles Borne shocked the NXT Universe by surviving a 25-man battle royal on the May 6 episode of NXT to punch his ticket to Battleground. He’s now set to face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship and has his work cut out for him. The Conquer will definitely look to destroy Borne, so it remains to be seen whether Borne can pull off the upset victory somehow.
NXT Women’s Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
Stephanie Vaquer will be defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace at the NXT Battleground Premium Live Event. Grace is definitely Vaquer’s biggest challenge yet, so fans are wondering whether La Primera will manage to retain her title against Jordynne Grace when all is said and done.
NXT Women’s North American Championship: Sol Ruca (c) vs. Kelani Jordan
After defeating Zaria in the go-home show, Kelani Jordan will now challenge Sol Ruca for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Jordan was the first NXT Women’s North American Champion, so fans are waiting to see if Sol Ruca will be able to beat Jordan and retain her title, or whether Jordan will walk out of NXT Battleground as the new champion.
Other Matches
Tony D’Angelo will be duking it out with Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and it all began after Stacks betrayed D’Angelo at NXT Stand & Deliver last month. There’s a lot of bad blood between the two, so fans can expect this bout to get very physical.
Finally, Hank & Tank and Josh Briggs will be facing off against The Culling in a six-man tag team match. Both teams have been going after each other for several weeks now, and it will all come to a head at NXT Battleground, so fans are looking forward to seeing how the match will turn out.
