Roman Reigns is looking to bring the fight to the big screen once again—this time in Street Fighter.
According to Deadline, Reigns is currently in talks to join the cast of Legendary’s upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie, based on Capcom’s legendary video game franchise. While reps for the studio haven’t confirmed the casting, Reigns could be lining up alongside Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), and Noah Centineo (Warfare) for what’s shaping up to be a major action project.
The plot is being kept under wraps, but it’s confirmed that Bad Trip director Kitao Sakurai is set to helm the film, which is being co-developed with Capcom itself. No screenwriter has been publicly named yet.
This wouldn’t be Roman Reigns’ first rodeo in Hollywood. The WWE megastar—born Leati Joseph Anoa’i—has previously appeared in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, playing Mateo, the brother of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character. He also popped up in The Wrong Missy, a Netflix comedy starring David Spade and Lauren Lapkus.
The Street Fighter movie would mark another big step for Reigns, who’s been slowly carving out a spot in the film world while still dominating in WWE. With one of the longest world title reigns in company history, he’s already proven his presence on screen—and now Hollywood is starting to take notice.
