Will Ospreay isn’t holding back when it comes to his thoughts on WWE. The AEW star is doubling down on his criticism, now claiming that AEW smokes WWE in every field of wrestling.

During a recent interview with Josh Martinez on Z100’s Superstar Crossover, Ospreay didn’t mince words when asked why people should tune into AEW over WWE.

“Because we smoke them in every field of wrestling. Mate, we’re just better,” Ospreay said. “I respect them. I respect every single one of them there. They’re all vets. They all know what they’re doing. They’re great at their job. They understand getting people on their feet. But we are so much more of a better wrestling company than them. Our guys smoke them every single day of the week. They’ve got good guys, like Gunther. They’ve got great guys, like Randy Orton. They’ve got good guys, like Chad Gable. I respect all of them, but on our worst day, we smoke all of you guys.”

This isn’t the first time Ospreay has taken shots at WWE. In a separate interview with the Daily Star, he revealed he wasn’t impressed with WrestleMania 41, admitting he didn’t watch it but heard it wasn’t great outside of the match involving Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair.

“I still, as not only a viewer but also a wrestler, just don’t enjoy it. I haven’t watched WrestleMania, but from what I’ve heard, it wasn’t the best one — maybe Iyo, Rhea, and Bianca had the only really sick match. Those three are incredible, three of the best, period,” Ospreay said.

Ospreay added that he respects the WWE roster but doesn’t enjoy the product’s style, presentation, or overall feel, despite acknowledging recent improvements like the one-shot camera work.

“I respect it, and I respect the people doing it — the schedule is insane, and I commend them for it. I just don’t like the show. I don’t like the style of wrestling or the presentation. It has gotten better — I love the one-shots they’ve been doing — but I’ve never been a big fan.”

Ospreay made it clear that while he respects top promo talents like CM Punk and Roman Reigns, he still believes AEW’s in-ring product is superior.

“Honestly, on my worst day, I think I’m better than a lot of their guys — in-ring and on the mic,” he said.

With AEW All In: Texas taking place the same night as a WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special on NBC, Ospreay’s comments are sure to add even more fuel to the ongoing rivalry between the two companies.
