CM Punk is catching serious heat for his behavior during a meet and greet at WWE World last month, with Konnan calling out the former WWE Champion for treating fans poorly.

During an episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan reacted to a Ringside News report that Punk’s session during WrestleMania 41 weekend was a disaster, with fans comparing his attitude to that of John Cena and Steve Austin, who reportedly went above and beyond for their supporters.

“If it is true what was written, and if it is true about Cena and Steve, it makes him look bad. It does make him look bad. Of course it does,” Konnan said. “Bro, the one thing for a meet and greet is you want to meet the guy. You want to shake his hand and share a moment.”

Konnan emphasized that Punk is more successful than ever, making more money and finally getting along with WWE management.

“You’re making more money than ever in your life. You’re getting along with the WWE brass—which you didn’t used to get along with. You’re famous. You’re mega over. People chant your name. People buy your merchandise,” he said.

Despite understanding Punk’s concerns about personal space and hygiene, Konnan believes there’s no excuse for being cold toward fans.

“You can’t do that because the word will spread: ‘Hey, you know, I went to see him and he was like this.’ And I can understand the no touching because a lot of wrestling fans don’t worry about their hygiene. But you know, as far as—you can’t even have a conversation? ‘Hey, how you doing? What’s your name? What’s up?’ I do that at all of mine,” he added.

Konnan didn’t stop there, saying that Punk’s behavior shows some of his old bad habits resurfacing.

“What this does show is that this—this is one of his previous bad habits that is resurfacing now,” Konnan concluded.

CM Punk recently warned fans against touching him in public, making it clear he values his personal boundaries. But with stories about his meet and greet experience making the rounds, will Punk address Konnan’s criticism, or will he continue to keep his distance?
