Lyra Valkyria pulled out all the stops for her first WrestleMania appearance, and her striking white and gold gear was more than just a fashion statement — it was a carefully planned move.
In a recent interview with Robbie from My Mom’s Basement, the current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion opened up about her WrestleMania look, explaining that she only brings out her signature wings for the biggest moments. “I really do try to save the wings for the biggest shows,” Valkyria said. “My Queen of the Ring final in Saudi, that was Stand and Deliver against Roxanne, that was my biggest show before that. And then I think I brought them back for the Intercontinental final. And now for WrestleMania, they only come out at the best time.”
While Valkyria usually sticks to darker colors, her decision to go with white and gold was deliberate. “When I got the white gear, I was like, well, white and gold. White is WrestleMania, you know, the big big show gear,” she said. “I knew when I got that gear and those wings, I was like, that’s if I do WrestleMania. I’ve actually had that gear on standby for a long time. I held it off.”
Valkyria’s WrestleMania match was as memorable as her gear. She walked in as champion and walked out with an extra title on her shoulder, solidifying her place as one of WWE’s rising stars. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “Last year this title wasn’t even in existence. I got to become the first. I got to walk that ramp as the champ and walk out with an extra one on my shoulder. It was everything I’ve ever dreamed of.”
Lyra Valkyria’s WrestleMania moment was not just a win in the ring but a statement in style. She made it clear that she had been waiting for the perfect stage to debut the look, and it was a decision that clearly paid off.
