Becky Lynch has heard the internet chatter—and she’s not staying silent anymore. After returning at WrestleMania 41 and winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Lyra Valkyria, some fans started calling her “Becky Hogan,” a shot at the backstage politics Hulk Hogan was once infamous for. Now Lynch is firing back hard.
On the RAW Recap show with Sam Roberts, Lynch was told about the nickname. Her reaction? Total disbelief.
“I’m a bad guy? I’m the bad guy? All I’ve ever done is be kind—lovely, even—to people,” Lynch snapped. She recalled her match with Valkyria in NXT where she lost via a quick roll-up but still raised her opponent’s hand in respect. “That’s the kind of person I am.”
What did she get in return? A boot to the face from Lyra, something Lynch clearly hasn’t forgotten. “My face that’s already been through hell. My nose isn’t perfectly straight anymore, my shoulder’s popping out, I’ve got scars all over my arms—all of this from everything I’ve given to this industry.”
Lynch made it clear she carries those wounds with pride, saying they symbolize her sacrifices for wrestling. But the comparison to Hulk Hogan crossed the line.
“And after all of that, people go around and compare me to the scummiest person on earth? After everything I’ve done for them?” Lynch continued. “So now I’m the bad guy? I’m supposed to sit here and take it even though I haven’t done anything wrong? I broke through the glass ceiling. I changed the game.”
With her Women’s Intercontinental Title match against Lyra Valkyria at WWE Backlash just days away, Lynch made it clear she’s not here for revisionist history—and she won’t let fans rewrite the story of her legacy.
