Natalya Reacts to Mercedes Mone Photoshopping Dakota Kai Over Her

Mercedes Moné’s jab at WWE’s controversial budget cuts has drawn a reaction from none other than Natalya. Following a wave of WWE releases, Moné took to X and shared a photoshopped throwback photo originally featuring herself with Toni Storm, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler, and Natalya. However, in the edited version, Natalya’s face was replaced with that of Dakota Kai.

Taking to X, The Queen of Harts responded with a light-hearted jab of her own, noting that Dakota Kai looks “a little thicker” in the edited photo. It was a playful comeback from the former Women’s Champion to Moné’s creative dig. Natalya also expressed her love and admiration for all the women in the throwback picture, subtly wishing them well in their future endeavors.

The photo in question is from Survivor Series 2021, where all the women—Mercedes Moné, Toni Storm, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler, and Natalya—represented Team SmackDown in the Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Match. Notably, aside from Natalya, every woman in the original photo is no longer with WWE.

Even Dakota Kai, whose face was photoshopped over Natalya, was among those released by the Stamford-based promotion. Nonetheless, according to recent reports, several top agents and prominent figures in the wrestling world have already reached out to Kai. It will be interesting to see where her wrestling career heads from here.
