There was a lot of speculation about whether the Crown Jewel Premium Live would actually happen this year since WWE had plans for just one event in Saudi Arabia this year. However, it appears that WWE has now officially announced Crown Jewel will be taking place this year after all and it’s not going to be in Saudi Arabia.
WWE took to their official Twitter account and announced that the company will return to Australia for the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, which will take place in Perth on October 11th at the RAC Arena. Alongside Crown Jewel, WWE will also host SmackDown on Friday, October 10, and Raw on Monday, October 13, at RAC Arena in Perth.
“BREAKING: WWE returns to Australia this October for #WWECrownJewel: Perth with #WWERaw and #SmackDown also set to take place at @RACArena !”
This marks the first time the event is being held outside of Saudi Arabia. Previous editions in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 were all hosted in Riyadh, with the 2020 event canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This comes after it was previously reported that WWE would be heading back to Australia this year for a multi-night wrestling weekend. This will also be the first Premium Live Event in Australia since Elimination Chamber last year, which was headlined by Rhea Ripley defending her Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax.
WWE’s decision to move Crown Jewel to Australia is definitely an interesting move, and so we will have to wait and see whether this year’s Crown Jewel will end up surpassing last year’s show, which was really well received by fans.
