MJF is getting ready to tee off on Hollywood—literally. The AEW star is one of four actors playing Adam Sandler’s sons in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 cult classic. In the upcoming Netflix film, Sandler returns as the golf-swinging former hockey player—only now, he’s a dad with a chaotic squad of adult sons.

MJF plays Gordie, joined by Ethan Cutkosky as Wayne, Conor Sherry as Terry, and Philip Schneider as Bobby. According to a new feature from AP News, the Gilmore boys are all troublemakers, and the chemistry between the cast was instant.

“I looked like a goon, so they just assumed I’d be fine on the rink,” MJF joked about his casting, referencing the ice hockey roots of the film’s title character.

The four actors quickly bonded on set over the film’s four-month shoot. Shameless star Cutkosky said, “The fast pace of stupidity that we got to and what made us family was such an amazing thing. It’s really hard to come by.”

MJF echoed the sentiment, adding, “In between scenes, we could like look at each other and know what we were thinking and make each other laugh without talking.”

Schneider praised Sandler’s ability to build a positive set, calling it more than just a workplace. “His genius is that he gets people he wants to work with and just sees what happens. He trusts the chemistry.”

WWE’s Becky Lynch is also reported to have a role in Happy Gilmore 2, making this a rare big-screen moment where AEW and WWE stars collide—but this time, it’s all laughs, not punches.

What do you think of MJF’s Hollywood debut as one of Happy Gilmore’s wild kids? Could this be the start of a full-blown acting career for The Salt of the Earth? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
