Carmella parted ways with WWE this year after the company decided not to renew her contract. Carmella then accused WWE of ghosting her after 12 years of working in the company and now she revealed her current feelings about her WWE exit.

While speaking to Casual Conversations, Carmella talked about her WWE departure and said she was shocked when she found out her contract wasn’t being renewed, especially because she didn’t get much warning. Initially, it was hard to deal with but over time, she came to feel blessed and thankful for her years in WWE and the fun memories she made with people there.

“In the moment it was very jarring. I was shocked. I feel like it was shocked and immediately I was shocked and because I didn’t get a lot of notice to me. That’s what kind of was like, wow. But I’m so happy. I’m so, so happy. Everything happens for a reason. I feel so blessed. Like with my time at WWE, I mean, everyone that I’ve seen here today, it’s like joking around with Big Show and like I saw Ellsworth. I’m like, this is wild.”

Carmella also responded to people who misunderstood things she said on her podcast. She made it clear she wasn’t speaking badly about WWE and that she’s grateful for everything. Even though she felt a little hurt by how it ended, she understands that it had to happen eventually.

“I wasn’t at all saying anything bad about WWE. I’m like so grateful for my time at WWE. Eventually, I’m going to leave WWE. Like, there’s no way I can live like work there forever. For me personally, I was just a little upset and hurt, I guess, with how it ended, but it was going to end no matter what, you know? And I was just a little hurt with how it ended, that’s all.”

Now that she’s no longer under contract, Carmella is taking time to figure out who she is outside of wrestling. After 12 years in WWE, she’s learning to be herself as a person, not just her wrestling character. With that said, she stated that she is open to going back one day for something special like the Royal Rumble because wrestling is still a big part of her life.

“I even though I had been away for 2 years, I was still under contract. And it’s like for the first time in 12 years, I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m Leah. I’m not Carmela.’ Like, but who is Leah without wrestling? I will for sure hope that someday I go back, you know, whether it’s like a one-off or for a Rumble or something. Um, it’s in my blood and I love it.”

This comes after Carmella announced that she is expecting her second child with Corey Graves. In the end, Carmella has just accepted the situation for what it was and is clearly moving on in life and that’s all that matters to her now.
