Dominik Mysterio made sure his WrestleMania 41 victory wasn’t just about winning gold—it was about sending a message straight to his own family.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Dominik revealed that after winning the Intercontinental Championship, he spotted his mother in the crowd and made a deliberate move. “I did one long glance, and out of the corner of my eye I saw my mom, and the only thing I did was shove the title directly in her face. Because I’m pretty sure none of them thought I could do it either,” he said.
When asked if that title shove was meant as an “FU,” Dominik didn’t sugarcoat it. “It totally does.”
Dominik’s moment wasn’t just about claiming his first WrestleMania singles win—it was personal. He made it clear that proving his family wrong was just as satisfying as getting his hand raised in the ring.
Dominik also doubled down on his belief that he’s already surpassed his legendary father, Rey Mysterio, in the business. “Year one, I was already a tag champ. Year three, I was the singles champ down at NXT. Year four, I already surpassed him as the greatest mysterious [Mysterio] of all time, winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania,” he stated.
Dominik’s cold celebration shows he’s not looking for approval anymore—not even from his own blood.
