Bryan Danielson sounds like he’s ready to close the chapter on his in-ring career—and this time, he might mean it.

In a new interview with Jamal Niaz, Danielson was asked about the possibility of returning to the ring after his brutal loss to Jon Moxley at AEW WrestleDream last October. While he didn’t slam the door completely shut, his answer made it clear that the clock is ticking—and he’s thinking hard about his future.

“Yeah, but my neck is wrecked. So, it’s not no chance, but it’s risk versus reward at this point, right?” Danielson said. “So I want to be able to live comfortably with my wife and kids.”

He didn’t stop there, directly addressing how difficult it can be for athletes to walk away from the spotlight. “One of the things our society has a real problem with is realizing when enough is enough, and I’m very satisfied with my career, and I think enough is enough.”

After losing the AEW World Championship to Moxley—and getting attacked by Wheeler Yuta with a plastic bag post-match—Danielson had teased the idea of returning multiple times. But this latest statement feels different. It sounds like The American Dragon might finally be at peace stepping away.
