WrestleMania 41 saw AJ Styles duke it out with Logan Paul in a match fans didn’t really expect to see on the biggest stage. Keeping that in mind, it appears WWE had planned this match long in advance.

According to Fighful Select, it was reported that AJ Styles was planned to be Logan Paul’s WrestleMania opponent before Styles’ injury last year. It is to be noted that he suffered a serious foot injury back in October last year and he was only able to return during the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.

During the Royal Rumble match, The Maverick ended up eliminating AJ Styles from the match, which kickstarted their feud in the first place. In the end, Logan Paul also defeated The Phenomenal One at WrestleMania 41 thanks to some brass knuckles.

While Paul keeps proving he’s a big deal in WWE, a lot of fans are wondering if AJ Styles should have had a better ending to the match or even won the bout, since many feel The Phenomenal One deserved better.

Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see what WWE will have planned for both The Maverick and The Phenomenal One, as it’s clear both need proper direction following WrestleMania 41.
