Booker T finally broke his silence about the viral Hall of Fame meme—and he did it live on WWE NXT.

After days of fans roasting him for allegedly falling asleep during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, Booker gave his side of the story during the opening of the April 22, 2025 episode of NXT. Vic Joseph didn’t waste any time and said, “Booker T, the last time you were here (at the Hall of Fame), you were asleep.”

Without missing a beat, Booker fired back: “I was praying.”

The internet ran wild with jokes after a photo surfaced on April 20 showing the WWE legend with his eyes closed during the Natural Disasters’ induction speech. Fans cracked up, claiming he had passed out mid-ceremony. Some took shots, calling it “disrespectful” to Fred Ottman and the late John Tenta’s family. Others turned it into a meme frenzy.

Booker initially responded with silence—literally—by posting the unedited pic on Twitter with no caption. That move alone had people either applauding him for owning it or doubling down on the jokes. One user tweeted, “Had a nice sleep, legend?” while another posted, “Booker T with Red Bulls this morning.”

Before that, he tried redirecting attention to NXT Stand & Deliver, tweeting, “The future of WWE is on display at #NXTStandAndDeliver! The 2025 card is straight fire… I’m watching closely—can’t wait!” But that only added fuel to the fire, with fans immediately clowning him again.

Now, Booker T’s sarcastic clapback on NXT might just be the final word on the subject. Whether you believe he was praying or power napping, one thing’s clear—he’s not sweating the meme at all.

What do you think—was Booker T really praying, or just caught in 4K napping? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
