Paul Heyman turning on Roman Reigns and CM Punk and aligning himself with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41 was something that no one saw coming and since then, fans have been wondering why he did what he did. In light of such speculation, Heyman has now explained his actions.
While speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Paul Heyman explained that aligning with Seth Rollins made perfect sense because both of them had been used and discarded by Roman Reigns.
Heyman said people often look too hard for answers, like digging into conspiracy theories, when the truth is simple and right in front of them. Roman takes what he needs from people, squeezes them dry, and throws them away, just like he did with Heyman. He also took a shot at CM Punk, saying Punk damaged his reputation the same way Shannon Sharpe affects ESPN’s.
“Sometimes the truth is so right in front of you that you start diving into Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories to figure out what’s going on. But this is a straight line, and it doesn’t take me to point it out to Seth Rollins, and it doesn’t take Rollins to point it out to me.
We just happened to be two like-minded, like-interested people walking into the main event of WrestleMania, understanding that we both suffered the same fate under Roman Reigns—that Roman Reigns uses everyone in his sight, squeezes the juice out of the fruit till it’s not useful anymore, and discards them. Just like he did to me.
Then there’s CM Punk… CM Punk does as much good to my reputation as Shannon Sharpe does to ESPN.”
As for when he and Rollins decided to join forces, Heyman said it happened the moment he handed Rollins the chair. No words were necessary; they were already on the same page and understood each other completely.
“When did we decide to join forces? When I handed him the chair. No words needed to be said—we’re all speaking the same language. We’re on the same wavelength. Yeah, that’s it.”
Paul Heyman has put himself right in the middle of the chaos once again, and fans are eager to see what happens next. After all, Heyman feels Seth Rollins and he are on the same wavelength so we’ll have to see how their alliance turns out.
