CM Punk and Seth Rollins have a long-standing rivalry and a lot of hatred between them, making it seem like they’ll never truly move on from each other. Even then, fans are curious if there’s any chance they could make peace someday. With that in mind, Rollins has now addressed the possibility of reconciling with CM Punk.

While speaking to ESPN, Seth Rollins was asked if he could ever make peace with CM Punk. He said that when someone breaks your trust like Punk did, it’s really hard to forgive. As he’s gotten older, he’s better at letting things go, but he still doesn’t have time for nonsense. He asked what good being friends with Punk would even do for him now.

“I think when you breach trust the way that he breached my trust, it takes a long time to grab that forgiveness. And look, as I get older and older, I’m easier about letting things slide. I can take things a little bit and let them go. But also—I’ve got no time for bull crap. I’ve got no time for it, man. I’m just like, why? What are you going to add to my life? What is this relationship going to bring to me?”

Rollins said he sees WWE as his family. It’s been his dream since he was a kid, and the company gave him everything: his house, his wife, his child. Wrestling helps him take care of his family. So when someone he thought was a friend turned on him and tried to mess that up, it hurt.

Rollins believes Punk would have been fine if WWE failed and everyone lost their jobs. Punk even told some of their friends to leave the company because of how he felt about it. Rollins said that’s like trying to destroy something he loves.

“And I look at WWE as my family. It’s been my dream since I was a little kid. Since I got here, it’s given me everything I have—my house, my wife, my baby. All of that is through this business and through this company. I’m able to provide for my family, allow them to have good lives they wouldn’t have had otherwise. And I have this guy here, who was a friend, who betrayed me—and then tried to take all that away.

He would have loved it if this company failed and all of us were out of a job. He asked specific friends to leave the company because of the way it treated him, because of the way he felt. And to me, that’s like sacrilege, man. That’s my family. This is my home. You come in here and try to take my family? You try to take my home like that? Nah.”

Since they both compete for the top spot in WWE, it makes things even harder. Rollins said that at this point, there’s no reason to be friends with Punk. Outside of business, it’s not worth it. He’d rather fight him than pretend everything’s okay.

Rollins finished by saying he has enough friends and people who love him. He doesn’t need another friend, especially one he can’t trust. So, to him, there’s no point in fixing things with Punk.

“Yeah, outside of business—which is what we’ve got—why? What do I care? I’ve got no time for you, man. So to me, it’s more valuable to hate you and to punch you in the face than it is to have you on my side and us holding hands and skipping down the yellow brick road. So that’s where I’m at with CM Punk. Don’t need to reconcile.

I’ve got friends. I’m loved. I feel love, I give love. I’ve got family, I’ve got friends—I’ve got more than enough friends. I don’t need another one that I can’t trust as far as I can see him. So why? What are we doing here? What’s the point?”

The issues between Seth Rollins and CM Punk are more than just part of a wrestling story. Rollins has made it clear he doesn’t want to make up with Punk. In the meantime, Seth Rollins is set to square off against CM Punk and Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 41 Saturday, so we’ll have to wait and see who will come out on top in the end.
