The Street Profits finally defeated DIY in order to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions, and many expected them to defend the titles at WrestleMania 41. However, they will instead defend the titles on the April 18th edition of Friday Night SmackDown and now The Street Profits have addressed being left off the WrestleMania 41 card.

While speaking on the Come and Talk 2 Me podcast, Montez Ford talked about The Street Profits not being on the main WrestleMania 41 card. He said they were on Friday, before everything else starts, so in his eyes, they were first. He wished good luck to everyone performing after them and hoped everything went well for them. But he made it clear, Friday was their moment, and they were proud to kick things off.

Ford made it clear that no matter where The Street Profits are placed on the card, they bring the energy and presence of WrestleMania itself. For them, WrestleMania isn’t just one day a year, it’s an everyday mindset.

They always aim to perform at the highest level because in their eyes, every appearance should feel like WrestleMania. He challenged others to do the same, stressing the importance of always having a plan and bringing main event energy no matter where you’re slotted.

“Here’s the thing though—we’re on Friday. That’s before everything kicks off, right? So we’re first, essentially. Good luck to everybody that’s after us. Good luck to everybody that comes out after us. Good luck to the people with their gear, their presentation, their moment. Congratulations. I hope everything goes perfectly, just the way you dreamed it for WrestleMania weekend.

But God almighty—just know, Friday, we’re first. That’s the difference. I dare somebody to follow us. We’re about to make the undercard feel like the main event. Don’t worry about it. No matter what show we’re on, we are WrestleMania. We live and breathe WrestleMania every day. So to us, WrestleMania is just another day.

If you’re not putting on WrestleMania-level performances every single time you step out there, what are you really doing here? WrestleMania isn’t just one night a year. They might label it that, but for us, it’s every day. Every night. 365. 24/7. And like I said, if you don’t have a plan—are you really a man? You understand what I’m saying? I like that. Is that making sense? Is that making sense?”

When asked if they’d still speak the same way about Friday next year if they were placed on the official main card, Angelo Dawkins said that no matter what show they’re on, if The Street Profits are involved, it’s the main event.

“Friday? I mean, if we’re on the show, you know what I’m saying—we got love for everybody. But anything the Street Profits are on? That’s the main card. No matter what.”

Montez Ford added that they pay attention to everything that happens before their matches, out of respect and motivation. Watching what others do only pushes them to go even harder, and this time around, they just happen to be doing it first.

“We’re on WrestleMania, right? It’s the same thing for everybody. Friday—we’re watching everything that’s happening on Friday. We’re watching everything that happened the night before. Everybody watches everything. Out of respect, yeah—but also because you want to see what everybody’s doing. You’re like, ‘Oh, okay, you did that? Bet. We about to go do this.’ And this year? We’re just doing it first.”

Even though The Street Profits won’t wrestle at WrestleMania 41, they now have a big challenge ahead. On the April 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, they’ll defend their WWE Tag Team Titles against the legendary Motor City Machine Guns. With so much on the line, fans can expect an exciting and intense match.

Do you agree with The Street Profits’ mindset that “every night is WrestleMania”? Should they have been featured on the official WrestleMania 41 card? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know how you feel about their upcoming title defense!
