Becky Lynch hasn’t been on WWE TV since the May 27, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW. Fans have been wondering when she’ll come back, but they feel it’s been delayed for far too long and now the reason for the delay has been revealed.

While speaking on The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the delay in Becky Lynch’s WWE return, explaining that creative plans had been pitched for her back in January, but those plans ultimately didn’t move forward. He wasn’t sure of the exact details, but believed it wasn’t a standard one-on-one match, it may have involved a multi-woman setup like a triple threat, fatal four-way, or a tag team scenario.

Sapp noted that Lynch has been under contract for several months, at least four or five, despite not being featured on TV or involved in any current storylines. According to him, Lynch is strategic and understands how to create buzz.

However, he noted that Becky Lynch is also not interested in being part of uninspired or lazy storytelling and is holding out for something more creative and inspiring, which is why she hasn’t returned yet.

“There was creative pitched for her in January. It didn’t end up happening. I don’t know exactly what the creative was, but I know it wasn’t like a one-on-one match. I don’t know if it was a three-way, four-way, tag team—whatever it might’ve been.

She’s been signed, she’s been under contract for months—at least four or five that I know of. But she hasn’t been brought to TV to do anything or anything like that.

She’s very smart though. She knows what creates buzz. But she also doesn’t want lazy booking. I don’t think she wants that. She wants something inspired.”

This comes after Becky Lynch talked about her status for WrestleMania 41. She said she knows it’s WrestleMania season and joked that she’s not wrestling anymore. Lynch then added that maybe she’ll return someday, just not right now. She also mentioned that her husband Seth Rollins is wrestling, saying, “It’s WrestleMania season, isn’t it? Look, I’m not wrestling anymore. Awww, maybe one day, but not right now — but my husband is!”

Becky Lynch’s break from WWE seems to be a planned decision to protect her character and make sure her return is memorable. Since she’s still under contract and waiting for the right time, fans can expect her comeback to be on her own terms, with a storyline that’s worth the wait.

What do you think? Do you support Becky Lynch’s decision to wait for a more creative and inspired return? Or would you rather see her back in any capacity? Share your thoughts in the comments below—we’d love to hear from you!
