Mercedes Moné is used to pain—but she’s not about to let it run her life. The AEW TBS Champion opened up on 98.5 The Sports Hub with Toucher & Hardy, revealing just how grueling her schedule is and what she does to keep her body from breaking down entirely.
With four championships to her name and 300 days a year on the road, Moné made it clear that physical discomfort is a constant part of the job.
“After my matches I’m so sore, I’m so tightened up and I’m like, ‘Don’t sit in pain, Mercedes. Go stretch right now so you can rest. Go do some salt baths, meditate, get your mind right before you go back to sleep and your body tightens up again.'”
She didn’t sugarcoat what it takes to perform at an elite level week after week, even when everything hurts. “You have to take care of yourself. You have to do yoga, you have to stretch after your matches all the time.”
Moné also admitted she hates cold plunges but still does them for recovery—because being uncomfortable is just part of being a champion.
Mercedes Moné may live a life most wrestlers dream of, but she’s paying for it in bruises, soreness, and long nights in salt baths. Still, she refuses to let pain slow her down.
