The Rock might be playing mind games again, and this time, he’s got the entire wrestling world watching closely. The Final Boss posted a casual Instagram video that’s now anything but casual—and it caught New Japan Pro-Wrestling completely off guard.

In the video, The Rock is seen solving a Rubik’s Cube while wearing a New Japan Pro-Wrestling t-shirt. That alone was enough to send fans into a frenzy. But the caption added even more fuel: “Slightly intellectually intimidated, but keeping faith alive.”

Was it just a fashion choice? A nod to NJPW? Or a sign of something much bigger? Sean Ross Sapp revealed on the Post-Raw Show that NJPW had no clue it was coming. “I have — it caught everybody by surprise. They had no frame of reference for it. There was little information there.”

In other words, The Rock didn’t give anyone a heads-up—and NJPW was just as confused as the fans.

It’s not unusual for The Rock to keep fans guessing. He’s known for his calculated teases and playing the long game when it comes to big reveals. But given that WrestleMania 41 is days away and his involvement in WWE storylines is already heating up, this cryptic NJPW nod couldn’t have come at a more interesting time.

So, was it a real hint at a future collaboration? Or just The Rock trolling the timeline while working on a cube? Only The Final Boss knows for sure.
