Layla, who worked in WWE from 2006 to 2015 and was part of many big storylines, has been away from wrestling for a while. However, now that she’s getting involved in wrestling again, she has addressed the possibility of signing a Legends contract with WWE in the future.
While speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Layla was asked if she had ever been approached by WWE about signing a Legends contract, since many former stars are now under those types of deals.
Layla explained that she had not spoken to WWE in a very long time, likely because she had previously made it clear that she wasn’t open to those opportunities. However, she added that things could change in the near future, especially now that she’s back on social media and involved with wrestling in some way, as she doesn’t rule it out. For now, she said it’s just a matter of waiting and seeing what happens.
“I have not spoken to WWE in a long, long time, and I think that’s mostly because I had made it clear in the past that I really wasn’t open to a lot of that stuff. But that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen or won’t happen in the near future—especially now that I’m back on social media and involved with wrestling in some capacity. So, we’ll see. It’s just a wait-and-see kind of thing, right?”
Layla is also launching a new podcast that will focus on untold stories of the Divas era in WWE. Layla wants to give more focus on a part of WWE history that many people don’t fully understand or often overlook. With her own experiences, she plans to share stories from behind the scenes that fans never got to see on TV.
Layla may not be fully back in WWE yet, but the door is open. Her return to the wrestling world through social media, interviews, and a new podcast could be the start of a new chapter, maybe even leading to a WWE Legends contract.
