WWE just took its obsession with branding to a whole new level—and this time, it’s got nothing to do with body slams or belts.
According to a new filing with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on April 9, 2025, WWE has officially applied to trademark the term ‘SNACKDOWN’—and it’s all food, no finishers.
Filed under serial number 99129616, the application is stacked like a dessert buffet. The goods listed include just about everything you’d want at a cheat-day feast: “Candy bars; ice cream sandwiches; bakery desserts; pizza; frozen flavored waters; cookies and crackers; hot chocolate; frozen confections; popcorn; noodles; chocolate; candy and more.”
Yes, WWE is trademarking the name SnackDown for use with “cakes, cookies, pastries, candies, popcorn, pretzel chips, donuts, frozen yogurt-based snack foods, and even kits for making ice cream.”
If you’re wondering where this wild left turn into the food world came from, it actually lines up with WWE’s SnackDown food bar at their Stamford HQ, which opened in 2023. WWE has also promoted the name through its partnership with Drumstick ice cream cones.
The trademark covers “retail and wholesale distribution and consumption on or off the premises,” so don’t be shocked if WWE-branded ice cream sandwiches or SnackDown popcorn pop up in grocery stores one day soon. With WWE’s expanding business moves—merging sports entertainment with lifestyle brands—it’s clear they’re not just about Pay-Per-Views anymore. They’re about pay-per-bites.
