The Undertaker may be retired, but don’t think he’s gone soft.

During the latest episode of WWE’s Legends & Future Greats on April 6, 2025, The Deadman had a serious message for Elijah Holyfield—yes, the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield—and it had nothing to do with his wrestling skills. Undertaker was less than thrilled about Holyfield stepping into the ring with a full set of jewelry.

“You’re lucky that I am retired,” The Undertaker told him. “If I was to work with you and you got in the ring with that chain and those earrings in, I would rip them out.”

Despite being impressed by Holyfield’s actual match, The Phenom couldn’t get past the flashy accessories. “Everything you did was on point today and I was distracted because you had earrings and a necklace on,” he added.

This isn’t just a fashion critique. Piercing-related injuries in wrestling are very real—and very brutal. Jordynne Grace had a piercing torn out during NXT Battleground in 2024, and Rhea Ripley had her lip ring ripped out during a match on Raw. Even veteran Matt Bloom, aka Albert, once lost a nipple ring mid-match. So Undertaker’s warning? Not exactly empty words.

Holyfield may have raw talent, but if he wants to keep impressing legends like Undertaker—and keep his ears intact—he might want to rethink the bling.

Do you think The Undertaker was out of line, or was he giving real veteran advice? Should wrestlers keep the jewelry out of the ring? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
