Hours before The New Day’s big title match on the April 7 episode of WWE RAW, Kofi Kingston dropped a sentimental tweet celebrating a career-defining moment—but fans quickly noticed something was off.
Kofi tweeted out a powerful message marking the six-year anniversary of his WrestleMania 35 WWE Championship win, writing: “4/7/2019 We made history by beating the odds & achieving what many believed to be the impossible. Tonight, 6 years later to the day, we’ve earned the chance to add to our legacy, further solidifying ourselves as the Greatest Tag Team in history. #ThankGodForTheNewDay”
The message was heartfelt, but the attached photo raised eyebrows. The image showed Kofi being held up in victory after defeating Daniel Bryan in 2019—but fans were quick to point out that Big E was noticeably missing. Only Xavier Woods was seen propping up Kofi in the image, despite both Woods and Big E sharing the ring with him during the celebration that night.
It didn’t take long for fans to piece it together. The original photo from WrestleMania 35 had all three New Day members standing tall in the ring. In Kofi’s version, Big E had been cropped—or more accurately, edited—out using what looked like a photo-blur or cloning trick.
Big E has been off WWE television for an extended period due to a serious neck injury and has yet to return to in-ring competition. Still, he remains a beloved figure among fans—and part of one of WWE’s most iconic factions in recent memory.
As for whether this edit was intentional or just an oversight, Kofi hasn’t addressed the reaction. But with a major tag title match looming on tonight’s Raw, the timing and choice of photo didn’t go unnoticed—and it’s got fans talking for all the wrong reasons.
