Rey Fenix is finally stepping inside a WWE ring—and now we know who he’s facing.

According to WrestleVotes, the former AEW and Lucha Bros standout will be taking on current NXT Tag Team Champion Nathan Frazer in his long-awaited debut match on WWE SmackDown.

Fenix’s arrival has been brewing for weeks. WWE started airing cryptic teases on March 14, and reports of his signing surfaced shortly after. Now, after escaping a messy AEW contract situation, he’s officially WWE-bound.

Tony Khan reportedly tried to block Fenix’s WWE jump by extending his AEW contract due to injury time. That move sparked backlash, with Fenix airing his frustrations online. In early March, Khan relented, and Fenix was finally free to reunite with his brother Penta—who has already made his own jump to WWE Raw.

As for Nathan Frazer, the NXT Tag Team Champion is no slouch. He and partner Axiom have been holding gold for over 200 days, though rumors of tension between them haven’t gone unnoticed. With Axiom recently wrestling GUNTHER on Raw in Spain, this Frazer match could signal a full-on main roster call-up—or just be a showcase for SmackDown.

So now it’s official: Fenix vs. Frazer goes down this Friday on WWE SmackDown. Lucha libre meets NXT firepower—and it’s a debut you’ll want to watch unfold.
