Ken Shamrock is one of the first people fans think of when it comes to fighters who moved from MMA to pro wrestling. Many people believe he should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, and now Shamrock has addressed the rumors that he might be inducted this year.
While speaking on Ten Count Media, Ken Shamrock was asked if he’s going to be part of the WWE Hall of Fame class in 2025. He said he hasn’t heard anything about it. He did go to WrestleMania and the Hall of Fame event last year, but since then, no one from WWE has contacted him. He said people keep asking, but he has no control over it and doesn’t really think about it until someone brings it up again.
Shamrock once again said the only time anything close to this came up was when WWE invited him to last year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles. Other than that, he hasn’t talked to anyone about being in the Hall of Fame and no one has talked to him.
“Not to my knowledge. I know I went last year actually to WrestleMania, to that Hall of Fame event, but yeah, no—I haven’t heard anything after that. People keep bringing it up and I’m just like, I don’t have control over that. I don’t know when or what they’re doing or when they’re going to do it. So I just—like you said, you just asked me and it’s back in my head again. I was like, ‘Yeah, no—nobody’s called me.’
Frankly, I really don’t think much of it until somebody brings it up, and then I’m like, ‘Yeah, no.’ Nobody’s talked to me about it. The only time it was ever even thought about was when I was invited to LA for last year’s WrestleMania and their Hall of Fame inductions. Other than that, I haven’t spoken a word about it, haven’t heard anything, nor has anybody reached out.”
The interviewer mentioned that WWE is honoring a famous match this year, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13, as an “Immortal Moment.” Shamrock was the special enforcer in that match, which is why fans think he might be involved too.
Shamrock said again that he hasn’t heard anything. No one has contacted him. He said he’s happy for everyone being honored, but right now, he’s not part of it.
“No, no. Again, like I said, this is news to me. I don’t think much of it until someone asks me, and then I’m kind of like, ‘Oh yeah, no—but nobody’s talked to me.’ Nothing. So—I’m happy for them. I’m really happy for them.”
This comes after PWInsider reported that WWE has been discussing his induction for this year’s ceremony. Shamrock’s work in both MMA and pro wrestling, especially during WWE’s big changes in the late 1990s, makes him a strong choice for a future Hall of Fame spot. Therefore, we’ll have to see if it does get inducted in the future, as this year seems uncertain now.
