Mickie James has found herself in the middle of a heated debate after her fiery comments on women’s ring gear during the March 30 episode of WWE LFG. And now, indie wrestler Maya World is clapping back—cheeks out and all.

In a video posted to Twitter, Maya World took a not-so-subtle jab at Mickie’s criticism of Zena Sterling’s gear. The clip shows her wrestling in revealing attire while joking, “ass cheeks out (sorry Mickie), knee sleeves sliding down, hair blowing in the wind, getting kicked in the head like it was that serious.” It was clear shade, aimed straight at the WWE legend.

Maya’s comments were a direct response to Mickie’s original remarks, where she praised Sterling’s gear but ripped into the decision to wear it. “I lived during the Diva era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore,” James said on-air. “Since because I am a female, I can speak on this. It’s very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle and all I see is their ass… You want to be taken seriously as a wrestler, but you are pretty much wrestling in jazzed-up lingerie.”

The internet lit up after James’ statement, with many fans calling her out for hypocrisy. Photos quickly resurfaced showing Mickie in her own risqué gear from her WWE days—something critics say undermines her stance.

Zena Sterling didn’t take it lying down either. She sarcastically tweeted that she would wear “full-body gear from now on,” poking fun at Mickie’s old-school attitude.

So far, Mickie James hasn’t responded to the backlash. Whether she doubles down or walks it back, fans are waiting to see if she’ll finally address the heat she’s caught for coming after the next generation of talent.
