Tony Khan caught heat in a big way on April 1—and this time, it wasn’t from a rival promoter or former talent. It came straight from the WWE NXT crowd, who lit up the arena with loud “Tony Fumbled” chants during Ricky Saints’ North American Title match. The moment went viral almost instantly, and now “Tony Fumbled” is trending across social media.

Saints, formerly known as Ricky Starks in AEW, has only just arrived in NXT and already walked out with championship gold. But as he was in the ring delivering the performance of his life, the fans took the opportunity to torch Khan for letting him slip away.

One fan tweeted, “THE NXT FANS LOUDLY CHANTING ‘TONY FUMBLED’ DURING RICKY SAINTS MATCH 😭 NXT FANS COOKING TONY AGAIN 🔥 #WWENXT.”

Another added, “The NXT crowd chanted ‘Tony Fumbled’ as it went off the air. Nah that crazy lmao.”

And it didn’t stop there. Tweets poured in clowning AEW’s boss for mismanaging a talent that WWE clearly sees as a future main event player:

“Tony Fumbled” “Tony Fumbled” “Tony Fumbled” I’ve seen enough. This is the GREATEST wrestling chant of all time 😂

“Leaking fake ratings, Tony Fumbled chants, man they about to put together the nastiest rah rah speech tomorrow. 😂😂😂”

“Cena buried Tony Nepo Khan. Bret Hart buried the sloppy shop. Fake ratings articles exposed. Tony Fumbled chants… AEW IS MUD 🤣🤣🤣”

It was brutal, unfiltered, and loud enough to catch fire online in real time. WWE fans aren’t just welcoming Ricky Saints—they’re using him as proof that Khan let a star walk out the door without ever really pulling the trigger.
