Roxanne Perez’s jump to WWE’s main roster had fans fired up, especially after her strong showing in the Women’s Royal Rumble and hard-hitting match against Jordynne Grace at NXT Roadblock. With talk of a full-blown feud against Bayley, it looked like WWE was lining up a major program to kick off Roxanne’s RAW run. But now? That may already be off the table.

On the latest Fightful Select Q&A Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp dropped a pretty telling update when asked about the rumored continuation of Roxanne vs. Bayley. “Yeah, I haven’t heard that mentioned at all in the last few weeks, and it was brought up quite a bit,” Sapp said.

That’s a pretty clear sign the angle might’ve been shelved—or at least cooled off for now. This is a big shift considering how many times Perez and Bayley squared off earlier this year. They tangled in a tag match on the January 28 episode of NXT, clashed in the NXT Vengeance Day four-way, and went toe-to-toe in the Elimination Chamber match. Fans thought a RAW storyline continuation was all but confirmed.

But with Bayley now chasing other angles and WWE staying quiet on Perez’s next move, it looks like creative may have pressed pause on her post-NXT direction.

That leaves Roxanne Perez’s main roster future up in the air. Will WWE slide her into another feud or are they still figuring out how to reintroduce her to a wider audience? Time will tell—but fans were definitely ready to see her take on Bayley one-on-one.

Do you think WWE dropped the ball by pulling the plug on Roxanne vs. Bayley? Or should Perez start fresh with a new feud on RAW or SmackDown? Let us know in the comments—we want to hear from you.
