The Rock Denies Sabotaging CM Punk’s WrestleMania Main Event Spot

CM Punk and The Rock share a long history, having faced each other multiple times in the early 2010s. Many fans have speculated that there was real animosity between them. However, The Rock recently denied any hatred toward CM Punk after a fan claimed otherwise in a video.

A fan named Allenownz on Instagram claimed that The Rock hates CM Punk and won’t let him main event WrestleMania as long as he’s around. In the video, he stated that every time WrestleMania season comes around, The Rock makes sure he’s involved so Punk can’t have his big moment.

Allenownz wondered why The Rock might hate Punk and said The Rock sees himself as more important than Punk. He also said Punk won’t get to main event WrestleMania while The Rock is in WWE. In the end, he joked about wanting to do whatever Punk did to upset The Rock.

“The Rock totally hates this one person in WWE, and I’m completely convinced. He is never going to let this guy get his shine as long as he is involved somehow, someway. Every single time we get closer to WrestleMania season and this guy is still in the company, I promise you The Rock will be involved in some way or another.

I need to know what the disdain and hatred are between these two. If you couldn’t tell by the description, I’m talking about CM Punk. As long as The Rock is here, this man is not allowed to main event WrestleMania. As long as The Rock is involved, CM Punk is not that guy. The Rock is always going to be more important than CM Punk—at least in The Rock’s eyes. I just need to know, CM Punk, what did you do to this man? Because I want to do the same thing.”

The Rock responded by saying that he and CM Punk have become good friends over the years and have a solid relationship. He also stated that the WrestleMania main event will be chosen based on what is best for long-term business success, not just short-term gains. In the end, he called the fan a clown for making that claim.

“First of all, Punk and I have become good buddies over the years. We’re solid. Secondly, whatever match making scenario is best for true long term (not short term) business success- that will be our Mania main event. Lastly, you’re clown.”

CM Punk and The Rock had problems in the past, especially when The Rock took Punk’s WWE title at Royal Rumble 2013, but now those issues seem to be over. The Rock has no problem with Punk, and Punk will finally get his big WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 41 against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, and that’s all that matters in the end.
