Former WWE Champion Big E has been out of action for over three years due to a serious neck injury. While many have speculated about his return to the ring, he has now downplayed the idea of wrestling again.

While speaking to Dylan Bowker, Big E was asked about his current health status and whether there’s a chance he will return to the ring one day. Big E stated that he feels great and can’t believe how much time has passed since he got hurt on March 11, 2022. His C1 vertebra hasn’t grown new bone, but it has formed cartilage. He has no pain, no movement issues, and no headaches or muscle loss and he also never needed surgery.

Big E is very thankful to God, karma, and the universe for letting him live a normal and healthy life. He hasn’t completely ruled out a return, but he’s thinking more about his future health and downplayed the idea of actually wrestling again.

At 39 years old and with past injuries before joining wrestling, the former WWE Champion wants to make sure he stays healthy as he gets closer to 50, which is just 11 years away.

“I feel great. The wild thing is that it has been over three years now. March 11th, 2022, is when I broke my neck. Right now, the situation is what it has been for a while. The last time I got scanned by C1 hasn’t formed a new bone where it’s broken, but it has formed cartilage. No pain or restrictions. I know one of our medical staff, who broke her neck playing softball 20 years ago, and she still deals with headaches. I have none of that. I have no headaches, no atrophy, I didn’t have surgery.

More than anything, I am so grateful to god, to karma, the universe. The creator, whatever magic it is that puts us on earth. I’m happy to have a healthy and normal life. The door is not officially closed on anything. I’m 39 years old right now. I also came into wrestling with a myriad of injuries. So now I’m thinking more about whether I want to have a healthy life. 50 is not that far off for me. It’s 11 years down the road.”

While Big E hasn’t completely ruled out a return, it seems unlikely at this point. Big E even went to Cancun for stem cell treatment at RejuvStem last year, but right now he is more than ready to move on from in-ring competition and focus on his current career in WWE and outside the world of wrestling. Regardless of what he decides, fans will support him and that’s all that matters in the end.
