The Rock just dropped a heartfelt apology after a terrifying travel scare grounded him—and kept him from one of the biggest weekends in UFL history.
In a message posted to social media, the WWE icon and UFL co-owner revealed that a plane issue prevented him from making it to Texas for the league’s Season 2 kickoff.
“Super bummed I can’t be in Texas but so grateful we were able to land the plane safely,” The Rock shared. “So sorry to our @UFL fans, players, coaches, staff and our teams at @foxsports @espn I’m not there. Let’s have a great season 2 opening weekend, have fun, and ball out.”
The People’s Champ followed that up with a video filmed in Hawaii, where he gave more details on what went down—and what he missed.
“I’m here back home in Hawaii, and I was scheduled right now to be in Houston, Texas,” Rock said. “Right now at this very moment I was going to be on the field at Houston, Texas, hyping up the crowd, getting them ready with electricity and mana and energy as we kick out our UFC Season 2.”
Yeah, he meant UFL—but hey, the man’s clearly rattled. The video continued with The Rock offering a direct message to the locker room and the fans who were expecting him front and center.
“I want to take a moment to apologise to all of our UFL fans, our UFL universe that we continue to build, our UFL players. My players man, I apologise to the players, I apologise to the coaches, the staff, to everybody,” he added. “It’s been a big kickoff weekend and I’ve been looking forward to this since last season ended. I’m so sorry I can’t be there with you guys.”
Plane emergency aside, it’s clear The Rock is still keeping that UFL energy alive—from afar.
