Stephanie McMahon is launching Stephanie’s Places, a new ESPN Original Series produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions in partnership with ESPN and WWE. The first guest will be CM Punk, and she has now shared a preview of the premiere episode which showed CM Punk breaking down and having a cry.
Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter and uploaded a preview of the first episode of her show featuring CM Punk. As seen in the preview, CM Punk was emotional backstage, stating he was really happy and didn’t care that he was crying, as he said, “Yeah, I’m having a cry right now. I don’t give a f***. I’m really happy right now.” This took place after Punk lost to Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam in Cleveland.
When asked if things had changed for him in Cleveland, he agreed completely, even though he lost. He mentioned his favorite baseball team, the “Lovable Losers,” to show that losing doesn’t mean failure. He was also glad he didn’t get injured. He said dreams should be big enough to feel scary—if they don’t, they aren’t big enough.
“Yeah, 100%. Obviously, I lost, but my favorite baseball team is called the ‘Lovable Losers’ for a reason. And I didn’t tear anything. If your dreams don’t scare the sh*t out of you, you need bigger dreams.”
Stephanie McMahon told him he was inspiring. Punk then asked if she was going to hug him. She said yes, calling it a big, sweaty hug, and joked that he always did this in the past, as she said, “I’m gonna hug you again—big, sweaty hug. He loves to do this. He used to do this all the time.”
The first episode of the show will be airing on March 26 at 12 a.m. ET on ESPN+, with streaming options on Hulu and Disney+ for Disney Bundle subscribers. Stephanie McMahon’s new ESPN series is already creating a ton of hype, and CM Punk’s honest and emotional storytelling is a strong way to kick it off. The blend of sports, wrestling, and personal stories will give fans a deeper look at their favorite stars.
