Natalya has always kept it real when it comes to life inside the ring—and at home. Now, the former Women’s Champion is opening up about what it’s really like having her husband, Tyson Kidd, produce her matches in WWE. Spoiler: she just wants him to be her biggest fan.
In a new interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Natalya didn’t hold back when asked about working with Kidd, who has been a WWE producer since his in-ring career was cut short in 2015. While she acknowledged how fair and skilled he is behind the scenes, she admitted she’d prefer a little less technical advice—and a lot more praise.
“It’s so funny that you bring that up—you’re one of the first people to ever address this!” she said. “With TJ , he’s very, very fair, but I’m like, ‘Listen, TJ, at the end of the day, all I want from you is to tell me that I’m amazing, that I’m pretty, that I’m the best—and, you know, just have me win it.’”
While she knows her husband can’t actually book her to win the Royal Rumble—“that’s totally above his pay grade,” she joked—Natalya still loves collaborating with him, calling the experience a privilege despite the occasional eye roll.
She also took time to show serious respect for the producer role overall, calling it the backbone of WWE’s creative structure.
“The producers are kind of the liaison between the talent and upper management. When we need help, they help direct traffic for our matches on television, but they’re also a great support system,” she explained. “I think the producers have the most important job in WWE.”
It’s a rare look at the behind-the-scenes dynamics of WWE, with Natalya proving once again she’s not just a locker room veteran—she’s got the personality to match.
Do you think Natalya has a point? Should producers hype up their partners—or just call it straight? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know what side you’re on.
