A major update has surfaced regarding Luchasaurus (aka Killswitch), who has been out of action due to serious medical issues that nearly took his life.

According to Fightful Select, Luchasaurus was backstage at AEW Revolution 2025, fueling speculation that he may have been involved in what some sources referred to as an “alternate ending” for the main event.

“Earlier this week, there were rumors that there was an ‘alternate ending’ planned for AEW Revolution. While we couldn’t confirm that, Fightful Select was told that Luchasaurus aka Killswitch was backstage at the show. In addition, one source indicated that when we were asking about what the ‘alternate ending’ was, things went very quiet,” the report stated.

While it’s unclear whether Luchasaurus has been medically cleared, discussions reportedly took place about using him at some point during the show. However, when pressed for details about his potential involvement in the rumored alternate finish, sources refused to elaborate.

This revelation adds another layer to the speculation surrounding Jon Moxley vs. Adam Copeland, which headlined AEW Revolution 2025. According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, AEW originally had a completely different plan for the match that would have included multiple wrestlers and even some surprise returns.

“I do know this, okay? I don’t know all the details, but there was an idea for the main event that involved way more people than actually ended up being out there, including some returns. At the last minute, it just got axed. I don’t know who it was or what they were going to do, but there was a second plan that didn’t take place. Whatever it was, it involved people who had been there before or had been there in the past.”

The rumors of a last-minute change intensified after Copeland placed his hand on Moxley’s chest at the end of the match before being pulled away. Some fans speculated that Copeland was supposed to win but that plans changed. Alvarez dismissed that theory, stating, “That’s not what happened.”

“I think what happened was there were changes to the main event, and people heard about that. Then they saw what almost happened with the hand on the chest, and then he got yanked off. They came to this conclusion that he wouldn’t put the guy over. That’s not what happened.

I mean, I’m 99% sure that, no matter what was planned before or after, Moxley was always retaining, and he was always going on to face Swerve at the next pay-per-view.”

Ultimately, Moxley retained his AEW World Championship after Christian Cage cashed in his guaranteed title shot. However, Cage passed out in the bulldog choke, with sources later reporting that the cash-in was only done to wrap up the storyline.

The timing of Luchasaurus’ backstage presence raises questions. Was he originally part of the scrapped alternate ending? Did AEW change course at the last second, or was his presence just coincidental?

As of now, there is no confirmation that Luchasaurus has been cleared to wrestle, but his return to AEW programming may not be far off.
