Fans were left stunned when Stephanie Vaquer defeated Giulia in the main event of WWE NXT Roadblock, walking away as a double champion. Now, the real reason behind Giulia’s sudden title loss has been revealed—and it has nothing to do with creative direction.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, Giulia is dealing with two separate issues that forced WWE’s hand in making the title switch.
“So Giulia – there are two things going on. There is some ‘minor’, I was told, visa issue,” Alvarez reported. “And there’s also an injury, which is listed internally as ‘undisclosed’.”
The decision to book the title vs. title match at Roadblock initially raised eyebrows. Many fans questioned why WWE would rush into such a high-stakes bout with minimal buildup instead of saving it for a major PLE. Now, it appears the answer is simple—Giulia needed time off.
With both a visa situation and an undisclosed injury affecting her status, WWE moved quickly to get the title off her, ensuring the NXT Women’s Championship remained active on television while Giulia takes the necessary time to recover.
Vaquer’s victory wasn’t just a major moment in NXT history—it was a direct result of WWE having to pivot due to Giulia’s unexpected setbacks.
What do you think about Giulia’s sudden title loss? Should WWE have handled it differently? Sound off in the comments!
