WWE brought a loaded RAW to Madison Square Garden last night for their March 10 episode, but the March 11 NXT Roadblock event was also a massive night for the company. WWE Roadblock filled up The Theater at MSG, and you never know what can happen when so much is on the line all night.
The NXT Title was at stake as TNA X-Division Champion Moose challenged Oba Femi. That brought a lot of eyes to the show as the two big men clashed.
The Undertaker met Oba Femi as he made his way out to the ring, and he told him to defend his yard. This was certainly a big match, and it closed out the first hour of this loaded show.
The contest got a big fight feel, thanks to Mike Rome’s ring announcing. Fans were more than ready to see this dream match go down. Before the two even touched, they waited to let the crowd cheer after the bell sounded.
These two battled through a commercial break, with neither side giving the other much. When we returned to action, Moose was sent to ringside, and then he put Oba Femi into the ring steps. They got back in the squared circle, and Moose nailed Oba with a big boot. Then he went for a dive off the top rope, but Oba just laid him out with an uppercut for a two count.
Moose then nailed a superplex, which he held onto so he could double up the suplexes. They continued on as the crowd’s response caused the venue to rumble. Suddenly, Oba Femi no-sold a kick to the face, and he returned fire with a clothesline. Moose countered with a powerbomb for a two count.
That was followed by Oba Femi press slamming Moose to the outside of the ring. Then moose sent Oba Femi through an announce table, tossed him in the ring to hit a spear for a near fall. Oba Femi returned fire with a Fall From Grace for the clean win, but that was quite a contest.
We will have to see who steps up to Oba Femi next. Moose was certainly a big time challenger and they left it all in the ring at Roadblock.
