MJF isn’t just one of the biggest names in wrestling—he’s also one of the highest-paid, and according to him, it’s not even close.
During his appearance on the SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina, MJF shut down rumors about his contract and let the world know just how much he’s raking in. When Traina mentioned a report claiming he was making $15 million a year, MJF didn’t hesitate.
“That’s a little on the light side. I can say that with full confidence, that’s a little on the light side.”
Traina then clarified that the reported amount was per year, to which MJF laughed it off. “Oh, we talking per year? No, no, no.”
While he didn’t reveal the exact terms of his deal, he made it clear that his overall earnings blow past that number. “The response would be ‘none of your business,’ but what I will tell you is the amount of money that I get by the time it is over far surpasses $15 million.”
He doubled down on his value, saying he’s earning “top guy money,” whether it’s an AEW or WWE deal. But if fans are wondering if he’ll ever wrestle outside of AEW, MJF isn’t in a rush.
“I am 28 years old. Every single top act in professional wrestling besides me is either in their late 30s, late 40s, or early 50s. So yeah, for the people who are panicked, ‘Oh my gosh, am I ever going to get to see MJF outside of All Elite Wrestling? Am I ever going to get to see MJF in this place, that place?’ Look, the reason I was paid top dollar is because I’m a generational talent. I won the bidding war. WWE didn’t win the bidding war. All Elite Wrestling didn’t win the bidding war. I won the bidding war.”
And he’s already thinking ahead to the next one. “I am making an absurd amount of money. By the time the contract is up, I will still be absurdly young, and then I will be able once again to make an absurd amount of money in the next bidding war. And you know who’s going to win again? Me.”
For now, though, MJF is right where he wants to be. “All Elite Wrestling is winning for the simple fact that they get to have me on their television show. I am without a shadow of a doubt, week in and week out, the biggest ratings draw the company has. I have been one of the top merchandise sellers since the inception of said company. I have been a top guy in this company since the inception of said company.”
MJF isn’t just playing the game—he’s running it. He knows his worth, he’s making absurd money, and when the time comes, he’ll cash in all over again. AEW might be winning now, but the real winner? MJF. Whether he stays put or shakes things up down the line, one thing’s for sure—whoever wants him next better have the deepest pockets. Think he’ll stay loyal to AEW, or is WWE in his future?
