Mercedes Moné is catching heat from fans after posting photos from the Queen of the Ring red carpet event.

The TBS Champion took to Twitter to share moments from the event, but things took a turn when she included a picture standing side by side with Harley Cameron—her opponent from AEW Grand Slam in Australia.

Fans immediately called her out for breaking kayfabe, questioning why she would be casually posing with someone she had just been feuding with. The backlash in her comments was relentless, with many wrestling fans voicing their frustration.

“Wait a minute… weren’t y’all just feuding last month?” one user asked, clearly confused by the sudden shift. Another fan bluntly stated, “Where’s the kayfabe at AEW?” One sarcastic comment read, “ERM EXCUSE ME, YOU TWO ARE BREAKING KAYFABE, AEW IS KILLING THE BUSINESS 🤓.”

Others were more direct in their criticism. “Most unprofessional bitch in wrestling,” one person wrote, while another simply said, “Kayfabe is dead.”

Not all the reactions were harsh, but even the playful ones called out the lack of consistency. One fan joked, “Hey, you two are supposed to be bitter rivals… but does the Moné Muppet approve?”

Some fans still hold onto the traditional mentality that wrestling feuds should feel real both on and off-screen. AEW had just run an angle at the same event where Mariah May attacked Toni Storm in a heated confrontation, reinforcing their feud before their AEW Revolution match. But seeing Moné casually posing with her past opponent moments later had fans questioning the company’s commitment to storytelling.

Social media has changed how kayfabe is maintained, but based on the backlash, some fans aren’t ready to let go of the old-school ways.

Do you think wrestlers should keep kayfabe outside the ring, or should fans accept the reality of social media? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
