Rey Fenix’s WWE debut seems inevitable, but as of now, he has not officially signed with the company.
Fenix, who recently secured his AEW release, posted a message to his fans on March 6, 2025. “Gracias por todo su amor ❤️ los amo. Thanks for all your love ❤️ I love you all. #Animo #MexaKing.” While he didn’t directly confirm his next move, everything happening behind the scenes suggests he’s WWE-bound.
According to Fightful Select, Fenix is expected to go through WWE’s medical process soon. If he hasn’t already signed, sources believe it’s only a matter of time, barring any last-minute changes. In addition WWE merchandise for Fenix has already been brainstormed, another strong indication that his signing is imminent.
AEW had the option to extend Fenix’s contract due to injury time but instead granted his release. The situation was reportedly complicated, with Fenix making “vague allegations about inhumane treatment” that AEW denied privately but never addressed publicly. Sources believe he had to agree to a non-disparagement clause to secure his exit.
Earlier reports suggest that “the expectation backstage is that he joins WWE sooner rather than later. It was said they wouldn’t be surprised if Fenix ends up on the WM card but noted there’s no exact timeline in place.”
With WrestleMania approaching, WWE has a major opportunity to introduce Fenix on the biggest stage possible. Whether he reunites with Penta in a tag team or steps into the singles spotlight, all signs indicate he’ll be making an impact sooner rather than later.
