Bear Boulder, real name Thomas “Tommy” Wansaw, may be off the legal hook soon, as the victim in his domestic violence case has formally requested the charges be dismissed.

According to a document signed on January 15 and added to court records on February 28, the victim told the State Attorney’s Office in Orange County, Florida:

“I am by the execution of this document, advising the State Attorney’s Office, Orange County, Florida that I do not desire the case to be prosecuted further, and request the charges be dismissed.”

Boulder was arrested on January 14 for battery by strangulation, after allegedly pushing his fiancée to the floor and placing his foot on her throat until she lost consciousness. The victim also claimed this was not the first time such an incident had occurred.

Following his arrest, All Elite Wrestling immediately fired Boulder, and his Iron Savages tag team partner Bear Bronson publicly distanced himself from him.

With the victim asking for the case to be dropped, it remains to be seen how the legal system will proceed. While victims in domestic violence cases can request dismissal, the final decision is ultimately in the hands of prosecutors.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, support is available. In the U.S., contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or text START to 88788.
