The drama between CM Punk and The Rock isn’t just ancient history—it’s still making waves in 2025. Back in 2013, The Rock returned to WWE and ended CM Punk’s record-breaking title reign at Elimination Chamber, setting up The Rock vs. John Cena 2 at WrestleMania 29. Punk, who had held the WWE Championship for 434 days, was furious about being pushed aside for a Hollywood megastar.

But the tension actually started in 2011, when The Rock took a shot at Punk on Twitter, writing, “CM Punk: it’s simple business – The Rock is the main event at WrestleMania cause it draws more money in one night, then u will in lifetime.”

Now, Drew McIntyre is keeping that same energy. He quote-tweeted The Rock’s old post, firing back at Punk with, “14 years on and still relevant. Cry more you bitch Punk. I’ll see you down the line.”

This all comes after Punk took shots at The Rock and John Cena during his promo on WWE Raw. With WrestleMania 41 right around the corner, it looks like Punk is once again in the middle of a heated war of words.
