R-Truth is taking John Cena’s betrayal harder than anyone, and now he’s making sure the whole world knows it.
Following Cena’s shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber, R-Truth completely revamped his Twitter profile in response. His new header now reads “Say it ain’t so John”, while his profile picture simply says “Why John?”.
Truth and Cena have a long history, from rivals in the early 2010s to allies in recent years. Truth has always shown respect for Cena, even mimicking some of his signature moves. But with Cena siding with The Rock and brutalizing Cody Rhodes, it seems that admiration has turned into heartbreak.
This isn’t the first time Truth has reacted to Cena’s actions. He initially responded to Brandi Rhodes’ post about the heel turn with “We can’t jump to conclusions,” but later posted an even more cryptic message: “Think I might crash out.” Now, with his Twitter overhaul, it’s clear Truth isn’t ready to accept the new version of Cena.
Meanwhile, Cena isn’t sticking around to explain himself. The Rock confirmed during the Elimination Chamber post-show that Cena flew in from Budapest for the event and immediately left for Africa to continue filming his next movie. With WrestleMania 41 fast approaching, it remains to be seen when Cena will return to WWE television.
But as for R-Truth? He’s already made his stance clear.
