The card for WWE WrestleMania 41 is coming together, and many fans are curious about CM Punk’s role, especially since he missed last year’s event. However, it appears that CM Punk is downplaying the idea of headlining WrestleMania.

While speaking to Inside the Ropes, CM Punk was asked about not being able to main event WrestleMania, a topic he had been very vocal and frustrated about in the past. He admitted that things he said or did 10 to 12 years ago don’t matter as much to him anymore, though some fans still hold onto them.

The Second City Saint acknowledged that his priorities have changed in 2025. While main eventing WrestleMania was always a goal, his perspective has changed. It doesn’t mean he no longer wants to, but he now sees it differently. If someone else is chosen for the main event, he believes they won’t be able to do better than him.

“I also think that the things I may have said or did 10, 12 years ago—there are a lot of fans who have held on to that way more than I have. I think there are a lot of things that are less important to me in 2025.

So yeah, sometimes I just think, well, it’s really not that big of a deal. Main eventing WrestleMania has always been a goal of mine, but goals change. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania, but at this stage in my career, I look at it like, ‘Oh, okay, this person is going to main event? Alright, well, you’re not going to be able to follow this.’

CM Punk stated that if he isn’t in the main event, he’ll wrestle first, then shower, and eat some donuts. He will then watch the so-called main event, knowing it wouldn’t be able to follow his performance.

“So I don’t know what to tell you. I’ll go first, I’ll shower, I’ll eat some donuts, and then I’ll watch whatever you call a main event. And I’ll just go, ‘Oh yeah, alright, I was right—you couldn’t follow it.’”

As for CM Punk’s immediate plans, he will be competing inside the Elimination Chamber match against the likes of John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul and others for a World Title opportunity at WrestleMania 41. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether Punk will punch his ticket to the Showcase of the Immortals, even if he no longer feels headlining WrestleMania is a big deal now.

Do you believe CM Punk should headline WrestleMania 41, or does it no longer matter for his legacy? Would you be satisfied with him stealing the show in a non-main event match? Let us know in the comments below!
