It looks like Sol Ruca might be getting a fresh identity in WWE NXT, as the company has filed a trademark for the name “Kalyx.”
The standout has become a key part of NXT’s women’s division, recently teaming up with Zaria in the tag team division. Their alliance has been showcased through a series of vignettes, with Sol introducing Zaria to her beach lifestyle, while Zaria hinted that she’ll have her turn to show Sol her world next.
Now, WWE’s latest trademark filing suggests Sol Ruca could soon be wrestling under a new name. The company filed for “Kalyx” with the USPTO, a name that conveniently connects to her real name, Calyx Hampton.
Though WWE hasn’t confirmed the change, the pattern seems clear. Zaria’s real first name is Daria, which is just one letter off from her NXT name. Renaming Sol as Kalyx would keep that theme going, further tying their team together.
With WWE putting effort into building this duo, a name change could signal a new direction for Sol Ruca’s NXT career. Ringside News will keep you updated if any additional information surfaces.
Would you be on board with WWE renaming Sol Ruca to Kalyx, or should she stick with her current name? Drop your thoughts below!
